We’re committed to letting you know exactly what you can expect from a partnership with WestEnd Capital Management at every step of the way. Here we outline the basic services available to every client, along with a look at our two main investment products. Call us when you are ready to begin, or to schedule a consultation with our partners.
Initial Consultation—As a first step, you will meet with one or all of our partners. In the course of this discussion, we will seek to learn about your needs as an investor and take into account factors such as your age, total assets, financial goals and your tolerance for risk. We’ll also provide detailed information on the different types of accounts we manage and answer all of your questions.
Financial Planning—In addition to helping you select the type of account most suited to your needs, Gus Orzag, our resident Certified Financial Planner, can help you with more complex financial planning issues, such as retirement, tax and estate planning, risk management and college funding concerns.
Our in-house professional portfolio manager and market analyst, Sean Cooper (CMA and CPIM), can also help you develop your objectives into a solid investment portfolio, as well as providing you with sound market analysis and feedback.
Statements, Reporting and Results—When you invest with us you receive a monthly statement from our custodian, Fidelity Investments, showing all transactions on your account, as well as any outstanding balances. You will also receive quarterly performance reviews from us that simply and clearly summarize your account’s performance, as well as our fees.
Ongoing Consultation—We are always happy to answer any questions you may have. We value frequent communication with our clients—your feedback is the best monitor of our performance. We encourage regular in-person meetings or calls to discuss the performance, asset allocation and stock selections of your portfolio. The more we know about your current situation, the more quickly we can respond to any changes in your investment objectives or risk profile.
We offer two main types of managed accounts:
Long Term Capital Gains (LTC)—This product implements a long-term strategy that entails purchasing securities for holding periods of 12 months or more. The annual fee for this type of account is 1.5%.
Aggressive—This product implements a return-driven strategy that is more tactical than an LTC account. The primary focus is total return and capital preservation, utilizing in part short-term market volatility. It does not take into account long-term holdings for tax purposes. To qualify for this type of account, clients must invest and maintain a minimum balance of $750,000 or have a net worth in excess of $1,500,000. The fee for this account is 1.5%, plus a performance fee at the end of the calendar year.
