Core Investment Principles
We focus on avoiding short-term market trends and market-timing pitfalls, use high technology research tools and undertake in-depth fundamental analysis of each stock. We concentrate on selecting individual securities that we believe will generate attractive returns over the short-, medium- or long-term, based on investment objectives and risk tolerance.
Strategy
Our goal is to outperform the market—and all other asset managers, brokers, investment advisors and mutual funds—over long periods of time, i.e., 5-10 years, while lowering systematic risk. Four strategic drivers guide our pursuit of this goal: Go where growth prospects are highest—We look for growth opportunities that represent real value in North America, Europe, Asia, or wherever in the world they may be. Follow the leaders—We identify companies that are consistently beating the market and soaring past their earnings estimates. Keep winners and sell losers—Seems obvious, right? But you’d be surprised how many asset managers do just the opposite, leading investors to underperformance and unwanted capital gains. Manage from a core list of quality companies—Our actively managed portfolio of companies is closely tracked and our portfolio management team makes frequent check-in visits. A typical portfolio will consist of only 35-45 stocks.
